Level 0 - The lobby

Survival difficulty class 1.

Level 0 is the 1st level of the backrooms and usually the first level wanderers will find themself in. All rooms in level 0 have the same features though no rooms are exactly the same. The features include: Worn mono- yellow wallpapers, moist carpet and fluorescent lighting with a loud “HMMM” buzz. The biggest threat here is the lack of available resources such as food and beverage. Many wanderers die from dehydration, starvation and exhaustion. It’s unknown if entities exist and no interaction with other wanderers have ever been reported. Linear space in level 0 is altered drastically; It’s possible to walk in a straight line and end up in the same place you first started in. Navigation devices such as GPS and compasses don't work here. Radio communication units are audibly distorted and not reliable. Above the ceiling tiles lies a dark and cramped space about 1 meter in height, the air here is stale and filled with dust. Across the ceiling are electrical wires in all directions. Level 0 can be entered by accidentally noclipping from the frontrooms and various different levels can also lead to level 0.

  • Factors may eventually cause the hallways to fade into level 1.
  • Breaking a wall leads to level -1.
  • Breaking through the floor may lead to level 27 or the void.
  • Seldom wandering far in any direction may lead to Manila Room.
  • Occasionally one will find doors made out of glass, they lead to level 13.

Picture of level 0 and og post:
If you're not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wring areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of flourescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in

God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you

The original "idea" of the backrooms (specifically this level because it was the first of them all) was a reply to a post, you can see it here
